SAVAGE, MD - Good News for Women! Stress does not have to impair your health.
Effective May 2008, on-going workshops will be held at Good Life Wellness in historic Savage Mill, Savage, MD to focus on women and stress. The Center opened for business back in February 2008 ready to serve the community with its’ integrated multi-faceted wellness services to nurture, educate, and treat people seeking wholeness within mind, body, and spirit. The Center’s mission is to educate and empower the community on effective preventative alternative health strategies to wellness.
Despite the strides women have made in all aspects of society, why is it that women seem to be more stressed out than ever? These are some of the questions the Women and Stress workshops will address. We will speak on the impact of stress on women and will look at how our overall health is impacted by stress.
Our workshop approach is light, learning and doing by creating an atmosphere that is conducive for chatting, sharing, educating and relaxing. It is our way of saying “you don’t have to handle it alone; come out for support, tend to someone else, attend our workshops, and take decisive action”.
Specifically, we will look at some of our own expectations; whether they’re they real or unrealistic. The workshop will not be complete unless we address the following questions:
- What are some of your unspoken requests and why do you tend to “suffer” silently whether at work or at home? You will learn how to change that model and have more peace and less stress.
- Is it our natural tendencies that are getting in the way or are we working against our natural inclinations causing us undue stress?
- Is it okay to tolerate and suffer in silent? We will also look at how men deal with stress and what we can learn from them.
NexPhase is all about Nurturing, Encouraging, eXchanging ideas, Purpose, Healthy Habits, Accountability, Setting intentions, and Emergizing.
